One of the most important steps that should be completed when preparing to move house is a task that is often overlooked. Nobody should move home without creating moving checklists!
Moving home can be an extremely stressful time and between packing boxes, arranging removal firms, sorting out finances and everything else, some tasks can be easily forgotten.
Creating a moving house checklist is one way to ensure the important tasks are carried out which will reduce your stress levels and prevent problems during and after the move.
Although the checklist should contain all relevant tasks to be completed, it makes sense to arrange the tasks into chronological order of when they must be completed and also to prioritise them, as some tasks will be more important than others.
Our best advice is to start putting together your moving house checklist and map out the tasks to be completed as soon as you know you will be moving. Waiting until the last minute to put together the checklist will mean that you will still forget things for the list!
It may sound obvious, but you must remember to tick the tasks off as you complete them so your progress is being tracked properly!
As you move through the tasks and the house move is progressing, you may need to add new tasks to the list. If this is the case, make sure you are prioritising and arranging them in the same way you did when you created the list initially.
